JOB DESCRIPTION

Prepare accurate cost estimates for competitive bidding of electrical construction projects.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Review construction drawings, specifications and other documentation to prepare estimates for potential projects.
  • Prepare quantitative takeoffs of quotable materials.
  • Confer with contractors and subcontractors on Scope of Work, Request for Information (RFI), Value Engineering (VE), as well as addenda to project estimates.
  • Provide project budget and detailed scope to Project Managers on all projects we successfully attain.
  • Track bid status and obtain feedback from requesting contractors.
  • Accurately identify scope of projects to be bid
  • Compile estimates with ConEst software
  • Develop bid strategy with Management and Estimating team.
  • Compose bid proposals with clear, concise language within bidding deadline.
  • Assist Project Managers with change orders to existing projects.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in electrical estimating.
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of electrical field experience.
  • Ability to communicate with all parties involved in the estimating process.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Working knowledge of estimating software (ConEst is preferred).
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of how to read electrical and architectural drawings
